Tending the Future

I see it as my responsibility to leave a legacy of transmuting some of the poisons of our current times into medicine.

To move towards the muck – to feel it ooze through my fingers.

I do this by infusing earth-centered ways into modern systems and contemporary culture. I came from the world of advertising. I came from the backwards ways and the cement structures. Much like many of us.

And now I work towards remembrance, repair, and reciprocity.

Roots of my Work

Remembrance

Remembering our way back to the Earth, to our whole selves. To our place and purpose in this beautiful ecosystem. Remembering that we are nature. Remembering that rites of passage, rituals and ceremonies are ways of life.

Repair

Repairing our relationships with ourselves, one another, and with the Earth. Like getting to know the birds, plants, and trees near our homes. Not just their scientific names and properties…but by sitting with them - being with them. Learning about the lands we spend time with and the original tenders of that land.

Reciprocity

Human rights and Earth rights are not separate. The ways we treat others, whether by objectification, extraction, or exploitation will be the same way we treat the earth. I invite permission asking, offerings, and deep listening. What if we started all of our relationships with gratitude?

Regeneration

I collaborate with clients whose essence or work specifically supports environmental and social justice efforts. I give back a portion of my earnings to social and environmental justice organizations. Together we can move beyond sustainability towards regeneration.

INSPIRED CHANGE

My Approach

Working in the world of rites of passage, spirituality, and nature-connection I see it as my responsibility to be a part of the shift. Transmuting the systems of oppression, colonization, capitalism, racism, and indigenous erasure – just to name a few. To call in and practice collective liberation. In a feet on the earth, hands in the muck realness way.

My intention is to cultivate healing and reparative relationships. I offer education about the lands we spend time with and the original tenders. I invite permission asking, offerings, and deep listening. I encourage shifts from cultural appropriation to curiosity and understanding of our own ancestral roots and practices. I know awareness of ancestry is a privilege and I invite curiosity, grief, anger, and exploration around that too.

I teach self-generated ceremonies and being in direct relationship with the animate beings, land, and spirits. I know this ceremony and these practices have immense power to transform. They can transmute the poisons of our current times to the change we all dream of. I invite dialogue, feedback, and opportunities for learning. I am not perfect – AND I am deeply committed to the conversation as well as the change. We are in this together – and it’s going to take each and every one of us.

Kelly’s approach is incredibly centered, kind, and wise. I was immediately at ease when working with her, and consistently delighted at how well she could get at the heart of what I was trying to say. With her help I have gained clarity in my vision, confidence to pursue my goals… She brings warmth, intelligence, and amazing skill to this work. I can’t say enough good things about how helpful Kelly has been.
